Becoming a Half-Fanatic

Goal Achieved: July 19, 2015! | Ever since I stumbled upon the Half Fanatic group I have wanted to join. I’ve done many half marathons but I never had them in a time frame that would fit the criteria to join the group. Enter 2015. I registered for various half marathons that I was interested in (or participating with others in) that at the time just worked with my schedule- it wasn’t until I was reminded about half fanatics that I took a look again at the criteria and my spring/summer race schedule and realized I would finally make the cut!! I just had to complete my first three half marathons of the schedule and I would have their lowest criteria met: 3 half marathons within 90 days. I did them in 85 days so just barely but I got it!

Of course in June I developed the hip injury and I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to complete the RNR Chicago Half that I needed in order to make Half Fanatic status. I tried to rest but things never really improved so in order to hit the goal I decided to run/walk- you can read the full recap here. But I made it and my goal was achieved. 

Once I had the three races under my belt I was able to sign up online and then get my awesome tank. πŸ™‚ Through their site you create you own profile, list your previous half marathons and add your name to any race you have coming up. Then at said races you can connect with your fellow fanatics. I’m looking forward to using this more in the future after my hip is healed and I’m back to running.
