Joining the Oiselle Volée

When we moved to Wisconsin I felt lost with my running. We had a nice trail near our apartment but there were no running clubs or groups, no local running store, nothing to encourage me or help make me a better runner.

I started following lots of runners/ fitness folks on instagram to help with my motivation. I noticed there were many who part of the Oiselle Flock (now volée) and I was intrigued as it looked like any runner regardless of ability level could be a part of this group.

Oiselle is a women’s fitness brand that is empowering, supportive and makes fantastic athletic wear. As a newbie I’d never had any of the gear so thought I should grab some conveniently during a factory sale. LOVE. I got a scantron tank and a teal long sleeve. While these are for running I wear them for everyday too.

So anyway this company looked great and I wanted in. I wanted to be a part of team and being so isolated in Wisconsin I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. Well- it turns out their membership was closed, so I signed up to receive an email when they would take memberships again. Fast forward to the end of this summer (now that we are in VA instead of WI)- I finally got the email and knew it was going to be tough to get in as they are much more well-known now and lots of ladies want to be a part of this organization.

Sign up day was a little nerve-wracking but I got it! I finally get to be part of this team that I’ve followed and been in awe of for the past 6 months. Of course all of this comes at a time when I’m at my lowest with running, being injured and all, but seeing 100s of other women pushing to reach their goals, coming back from injury, breaking records- I can’t wait to be back out there and wearing my Oiselle race singlet with pride!
