Cabin Weekend!

Crimora, VA | October 9-11, 2015 | Now that we’re back in Virginia, we can join our friends in a cabin outside of Charlottesville. I had been going with them since 2011 and it was nice to be able to bring Jon this time around.

Jon and I were the first to arrive as we have the shorter drive than everyone else coming from DC. We rolled up around 3pm and I gave Jon the tour of the house and lake patio space. We got the car unloaded and sat down on the deck with some beers and had the jams flowing through the outdoor speakers while we waited for the rest of the gang to arrive.

Once everyone was there, we headed down to the patio area to check out the kayaks and look around. Then we helped everyone unload before Mike stared up pizza dinner. He brought his own dough! Such yummy homemade pizzas. We also snacked the entire time- so many good munchies.

Saturday morning dawned laterish for everyone. I had decided early on that I was going to spend the weekend in comfy yoga clothes. We had some egg scrambles for breakfast then it was time for lawn darts! We played for a long time- with Colleen and Julie murdering all of us. Back up at the house we had some pasta salad and chips and salsa. I was also enjoying the tagalongs that I made until they ran out Saturday night. Dinner was lady’s night- so veggie casserole and sausages was the name of the game. Afterwards it was time for telestrations!! I had never played before but it’ll be the next game I buy- so fun!

On Sunday, we started the morning with chocolate chip pancakes and a healthy dose of Blokus. Great game. JJ and Kevin had to leave early for her flight overseas for work, but the rest of us chowed down on some homemade guacamole, leftover pasta salad and whatever other munchies we wanted. Then we played a rousing game of STUMP- actually pretty fun. And then we roasted some smores. Was a great end to the weekend- love the cabin and hanging out with friends!!
