Oh September. You had some high highs and some low lows.
I got my covid booster and it totally wiped me. Killed my long run that weekend and made me questions whether or not I could complete the mileage needed to do this marathon.
I hadn’t had many great long runs this cycle and after that I was really down in the dumps over running. I told myself to keep going on the plan up until the deferral date and to see where I felt then.
So thankful I kept after it. Finally after weeks of complaining, the weather finally broke. It finally cooled off and I was able to see my fitness grow. I got in 16, 18, 20 mile runs with fast finishes and didn’t feel like trash afterwards. I did not defer the race so now I’m ready to see what October will bring.
I’ve got a little more run build and then it’s the taper. Last year I got sick during that time so hopefully this year, I’ll stay well with the help of Nuun immunity coursing through me every day.
One foot in front of the other, Let’s go October!
- 126.7 miles
- 5 strength workouts
- 5 stretch sessions
- 13 walks (27.6mi)
